Dubai Chocolate Inspired Matcha Latte

If you've been scrolling through social media lately, you might have come across the latest sensation: the Starbucks Dubai Chocolate Matcha. This luxurious drink combines the earthy flavors of matcha with the rich indulgence of chocolate and a hint of pistachio. Here's how you can recreate this viral drink in the comfort of your own kitchen.

(Note: I did not have pistachio sauce so to get that same effect, I used pistachio syrup and condensed milk for the creamy texture.)

Ingredients:

FOR THE MATCHA

- 1Β½ teaspoons matcha green tea powder (ceremonial-grade for the best flavor)

- 1 tablespoon hot water

- 2 pumps (about 2 tablespoons) pistachio syrup

- 2 pumps (about 2 tablespoons) of vanilla syrup

- 1-2 tablespoons of condensed milk

- 8 ounces (about 1 cup) milk of choice (whole milk for a richer taste or a dairy-free alternative for a lighter version)

FOR THE CHOCOLATE COLD FOAM

- 1-2 teaspoons of unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1-2 pumps (about 1-2 tablespoons) of vanilla depending on how sweet you like it

- 3 tablespoons of heavy cream

- Splash of milk

Instructions:

1. Prepare the Matcha: In a small bowl, sift matcha powder and whisk together the matcha green tea powder and hot water until smooth and free of clumps.

2. Combine Flavors: In your serving glass, mix the dissolved matcha with the pistachio and vanilla syrup and the condensed milk. Stir well to fully incorporate the flavors.

3. Add Milk: Pour the milk over the matcha and pistachio sauce mixture, stirring well to combine. Add ice.

4. Add Chocolate Cold Foam: In a frother or cup, add cocoa powder, vanilla syrup, heavy whipping cream and splash off milk. Froth until creamy. Top your matcha with cold foam mixed. Viola! If you’re fancy, garnish with a drizzle of chocolate syrup, a dusting of cocoa powder, or crushed pistachios.

ENJOY!
