4 Tips To Utilize When You're Getting Ready To Move
Well.. another year has past which means our time in New Jersey is coming to an end. It’s so bittersweet but we are excited to be closer to family again. Moving and packing can be anxiety inducing. Since we know we have only a couple months before our lease ends - at least we can be prepared! Here are 4 (four) tips to utilize when preparing to move!
Declutter
Before you do anything else, focus on decluttering your home. Now, apparently everyone is decluttering and organizing right now (thank you, Home Edit!), so you may be already doing this, but I wanted to touch on two aspects of decluttering, if you do not know where to start. Here are my top two things:
LISTEN TO MARIE KONDO: As Marie Kondo best said, get rid of the things that do not bring you joy. If you are not familiar with Marie Kondo, she teaches her clients to take every item out of your closet, drawers, etc. and touch each one. Think about how that item makes you feel. If it does not bring you joy, then get rid of it. If it does bring you joy, keep it. Not only is this relevant to items, but it’s also relevant to all life aspects. ___ doesn’t bring you joy? Toss it!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you have any important information (paper) sitting in your drawers for no good reason, you should take the opportunity to declutter these, but make sure you're doing it the proper way so that nobody can steal your money - or identity. There are some physical documents you do need, don’t just toss it all. Make sure you just pick and choose. To get rid of them properly, shred them, burn them, or cut them up by hand.
Hire Experienced Movers
If you are moving - especially long distance - I highly recommend hiring experienced movers. Moving yourself is just too much work. Seriously. Instead, hire movers that are capable of doing it all, such as All in One Moving & Storage, Inc. They are New Jersey long distance movers who are passionate about helping their customers reduce their stress levels during their moving experience. All in One Moving & Storage was founded on the principle that people need to feel like they can fully trust their moving company. Here are some of the services that they offer (quoted straight from their site):

Line Up New Doctors And Dentists
When you are getting ready to move to a new location, make sure you line up new doctors, dentists, and other essentials. Research it all before moving to ensure that you are not just rushing into any random doctor's office. For us, restaurants are important, as well. Research it all so that you aren’t overwhelmed when it comes down to it. This will get you excited about the new options that you have, too! Always an adventure!
A Positive Mindset
A positive mindset has the potential to ‘make’ your move when it comes to stress and the way you feel about leaving your old home and moving into a brand new one. There are a lot of different emotions that come up along the way, so making sure that you stay positive is essential. How to go about keeping a positive mindset? Well, for starters - think about all of the good things. Even if this is a stressful and not-so-great move, there are still positives that you can get from it! Make sure you keep those at the front of your mind and the things that are not-so-great on the backburner.
